The Overview
International Procurement & Logistics are the second largest privately owned food processing business in the UK, with thousands of colleagues across multiple sites in the UK and offices across the world.
Part of the Asda and Walmart family, IPL improve the value, quality and availability of many products found in Asda, helping to lower the cost of these goods so that savings can be passed on to customers. Their mission of creating a unique supply base capability enables them to support Asda and Walmart’s mission to Save Money. Live Better.
The Solution
Sigma were appointed as Principal Contractor to provide a turn-key service for the complete works (Fit-Out, Mechanical/Electrical and Fixtures Installation) of IPL’s Head Office in Normanton, West Yorkshire.
- Full strip out of office and colleague welfare facilities, inclusive of demolition works to the ground/first floor demise
- Provision of new floor finishes, suspended ceiling and bespoke glazing partition system to form new meeting room areas
- Creation of new welfare facilities, including new toilet and shower facilities for use by IPL colleagues
- New decoration finishes to the office and welfare areas, inclusive of remodelling works to the Reception Area
- Installation of new fixtures and fittings for use by IPL
- Complete Mechanical and Electrical Installation to facilitate the new works, including a project-managed, bespoke LED lighting upgrade across the first floor — replacing legacy fluorescent technology with highly efficient LED fixtures and saving a minimum of 85% in energy costs
The Result
The entire schedule of works was programmed to minimise disruption in a live working office environment, delivering a complete transformation of IPL’s Head Office within the agreed 6-week timeframe.
