Sigma Team Raises Over £10,000 for The Prince of Wales Hospice

A team of 16 colleagues from Sigma Group has raised more than £10,000 for The Prince of Wales Hospice after taking on the Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge in September.

The fundraising event, which took place on Saturday 19 September, saw colleagues from across the business head to the Yorkshire Dales to tackle Pen-y-Ghent, Whernside and Ingleborough, three of Yorkshire’s most recognised peaks.

Covering approximately 24 miles, with significant climbs and challenging terrain, the Yorkshire Three Peaks is a demanding test of endurance. Despite difficult weather conditions, including wind and rain, Sigma’s team demonstrated determination and encouraged teamwork throughout the day.

Every member of the team gave their all throughout the challenge, showing determination, resilience and a real sense of teamwork, all while raising funds for an incredibly worthwhile cause.

The challenge brought together colleagues from different divisions of the business, providing an opportunity to strengthen relationships while supporting a cause that makes such a significant difference to the local community.

Sigma Group’s Account Manager, Sarah Hunter, commented:

“It was fantastic to see so many colleagues come together and take on this challenge.

It gave people from across the business the chance to support one another, build new relationships and achieve something together outside of work. We’d also like to thank everyone who donated and supported the team along the way.”

Through the combined efforts of participants and supporters, Sigma exceeded its £10,000 fundraising milestone, all going towards the continued work of The Prince of Wales Hospice.

Supporting Vital Hospice Care

Based in Pontefract, The Prince of Wales Hospice provides specialist care and support for people living with life-limiting illnesses, their families and loved ones.

The hospice relies on charitable donations and fundraising activities to help maintain its services, making contributions from local businesses and communities particularly valuable.

The Prince of Wales Hospice Community and Partnerships Fundraiser, Emma Thwaite, welcomed the team’s fundraising achievement and explained that the amount raised could help fund more than two weeks of care for a hospice patient, including specialist healthcare, catering and housekeeping.
