The Challenge
Boots challenged us to establish a Bupa concession in their Monks Cross store within a short three-week timeframe. We were tasked with repurposing existing services within the property, which also led to an additional scope to update their dispensary area.
Despite the tight deadline, we successfully transformed the space to meet both Bupa’s and Boots’ requirements, aligning with what commercial refurbishment contractors are often required to deliver as part of a fast track fit out programme.
The Solution
Our solution involved transforming an existing stock room into a fully functional Bupa room. We utilised the existing structural walls, adding new partitions where required to create compliant additional space suitable for clinical.
The lighting was upgraded to meet modern standards, and the existing air conditioning units were enhanced to ensure optimal comfort for shoppers. Additionally, we installed all necessary fixtures and fittings, to ensure the room met Bupa’s high standards, consistent with the expectations placed on us as commercial refurbishment contractors delivering healthcare related environments.
Boots also expanded the scope of our project to include updating their dispensary area within the store.
By executing the programme of works in one sequence we minimised disruption to store operations, ensuring a smooth transformation supported by structured commercial fit out services.
The Result
Our comprehensive approach allowed us to efficiently repurpose the space while maintaining the integrity of the existing structure. The result was a seamless integration of the Bupa concession within the Boots store, completed on time and fully operational by 14th February 2025.
We achieved this with minimal disruption to shoppers, completing the project on time, within budget, and snag-free.
By leveraging existing services and structures, we maximised efficiencies across what would typically be delivered by commercial refurbishment contractors in a fast track fit out timeline.
Additionally, by incorporating the dispensary area update into the same project, we saved time for Boots by having our colleagues complete all works in one go. This streamlined approach reflects industry best practice for coordinated retail refurbishment and end-to-end commercial fit out services.
